Cashier

About the Role

Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, part of Covenant Health, is seeking a PRN/OCC Cashier for variable shifts in Food Services. As a trusted regional hospital serving East Tennessee, we offer advanced care across more than 30 specialties, combining state-of-the-art technology with compassionate care. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of our cafeteria operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register efficiently and accurately, following proper cash handling procedures.
• Maintain menu boards and signage to reflect daily menu changes.
• Prepare beverages and assist with pre-opening setup tasks for meal service.
• Assist with post-meal breakdown and clean up of the cafeteria.
• Stock and replenish supplies, adhering to HACCP guidelines for food temperatures, sanitation, labeling, dating, and storing.
• Provide excellent customer service in accordance with MMC’s customer service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Previous cashier experience preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Proficiency in simple arithmetic.
• Ability to operate a cash register.
