About the role

Cashier responsibilities include receiving payments, issuing receipts, and keeping track of all cash and credit transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a customer service position and good knowledge of how cash registers operate.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register to cash out guests
• Answer phones, greet customers, and keep track of seat availability in restaurants
• Assist with bussing and cleaning tables
• Perform assigned duties in an interruptive environment under frequent time pressures
• Work to ensure the safety and security of employees and customers
• Other duties as assigned

Skills

• Ability to organize and be creative
• Knowledge of sanitation and health department regulations for safe handling of food
• Ability to use a cash register, credit card machine, point of sale machine, restaurant bar equipment, and related equipment
• Ability to read simple instructions
• Knowledge of Alcohol Beverage Control laws, health regulations, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Ability to communicate in English; fluency in Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, or another Asian language is a plus

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience: One (1) year food service experience (preferred)
• Must be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license
