About the role

This Staff Accountant position reports to the Sr Accountant and supports a multi-legal-entity corporation by applying accounting principles to prepare and process transactions, analyze financial data, and create reports.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post monthly/quarterly journal entries.
  • Maintain accurate Balance Sheet account reconciliations, including bank statements.
  • Post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals.
  • Assist with Capital Expenditures/Fixed Asset projects and journal entries.
  • Assist in financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Perform variance analysis and review of various accounts during month-end close process.
  • Support finance and upper management.
  • Assist with audit schedules and requests as needed.
  • Assist in conversion to new ERP and financial management system.
  • Assist with other tasks and duties as they arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA license preferred.
  • 2+ years of previous large multi-location industry experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel knowledge.

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to quickly understand P&L reports and isolate issues.

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Attendance: Ability to maintain scheduled days and hours, including onsite presence at the assigned location.
  • Physical capacities: Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally; sitting and standing for extended periods.
  • Operation of office equipment: Computers, copiers, and other office equipment; requires near vision, manual dexterity, and working in proximity to equipment.
