Job Description Come and join our team and work on-site in Phoenix, AZ! The Cash Operations Director will be responsible for leading and directing all cash management operational activities across multiple business lines. This role oversees the accurate and timely posting of payments, coordination of cash flow across business units, loan-level cash disbursements, and reconciliation and balancing of bank accounts within established corporate timelines and service level expectations. The Director provides strategic oversight of cash operations, ensuring operational excellence, process integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective risk management. This position partners closely with Treasury, Finance, Accounting, Servicing, Audit, Technology, and other key stakeholders to optimize cash processes, enhance controls, and support organizational objectives. All responsibilities must be performed in accordance with company policies and procedures and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing mortgage banking operations. The approved Target Pay Range for this position is $125,000 to $135,000. What You’ll Do Leadership and Operational Management Direct and oversee the daily operations of all cash management functions supporting multiple lines of business. Ensure accurate and timely posting, reconciliation, disbursement, and reporting of cash transactions. Lead and develop a high-performing team through effective hiring, coaching, training, mentoring, performance management, and succession planning. Establish department goals, performance metrics, and service level standards aligned with organizational objectives. Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and customer service. Provide strategic direction and leadership to managers and supervisory staff within the Cash Operations organization. Cash Management and Controls Oversee cash balancing activities and ensure all bank account reconciliations are completed accurately and within established corporate timelines. Monitor cash movement between business units and ensure efficient management of operational liquidity needs. Direct loan-level cash disbursement activities and ensure compliance with investor, regulatory, and internal requirements. Maintain and strengthen internal controls designed to safeguard company assets and mitigate operational risk. Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions to maintain a strong control environment. Process Improvement and Strategic Initiatives Participate in the review of operational systems, processes, and procedures affecting Cash Operations. Lead and coordinate system implementations, conversions, enhancements, and vendor transitions impacting departmental operations. Evaluate existing workflows and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency, scalability, accuracy, and risk mitigation. Collaborate with executive leadership, Treasury, Finance, Compliance, Audit, and Technology teams to support strategic initiatives and organizational growth. Utilize operational metrics and data analysis to identify trends, drive decision-making, and improve departmental performance. Compliance and Governance Administer corporate policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, investor guidelines, and company requirements. Support internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews. Ensure timely remediation of audit findings and implementation of corrective action plans where necessary. Maintain thorough documentation of operational procedures and internal controls. Reporting and Stakeholder Management Ensure quality service and effective operational support for all business units. Prepare, review, and present operational reports, metrics, trends, and key performance indicators to senior leadership. Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on cash operations matters. Provide backup support for daily cash receipt reporting and other critical operational functions as required. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. What You’ll Need Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Five to seven (5-7) years of progressive experience in cash management, treasury operations, mortgage servicing operations, financial operations, or a related field. Minimum three (3) years of management experience with responsibility for leading supervisors, managers, and/or operational teams. Experience working within a mortgage banking or financial services environment preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Comprehensive knowledge of cash management, banking operations, payment processing, reconciliations, and financial controls. Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders. Ability to serve as the organization’s primary subject matter expert and spokesperson on cash operations matters. Ability to make decisions that significantly impact departmental operations, service delivery, risk management, and organizational performance. Demonstrated leadership capability with experience managing managers and large operational teams. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and competing deadlines. Ability to analyze, interpret, and present complex financial and operational data. Experience developing operational forecasts, performance metrics, and reporting models. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-level reports, policies, procedures, and presentations. Strong project management and change management capabilities. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated mortgage banking environment.
