Cash Application Specialist

Responsibilities

• Apply customer payments accurately and promptly to the appropriate accounts and invoices.
• Review remittance details and supporting documentation to ensure funds are posted correctly.
• Reconcile unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, and account variances in coordination with internal teams.
• Maintain accurate accounts receivable records and update transaction details in financial systems.
• Investigate posting issues and resolve exceptions related to short payments, overpayments, or unidentified receipts.
• Support month-end activities by preparing cash posting summaries and assisting with account balancing.
• Communicate with customers or internal stakeholders to clarify payment information when needed.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with cash application processes in an accounts receivable environment.
• Working knowledge of cash posting, payment allocation, and account reconciliation procedures.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve payment-related issues with accuracy and urgency.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial data entry.
• Proficiency using Oracle NetSuite.
