Cash Analyst

About the role

The Cash Analyst will support day-to-day cash management, financial operations, and organizational activities within a nonprofit environment. This role will work closely with leadership to monitor cash activity, support financial reporting and analysis, coordinate administrative priorities, and ensure important tasks and deadlines are effectively managed. The position will assist with cash flow monitoring, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and analysis while also supporting leadership with scheduling, meetings, reporting, correspondence, and follow-up activities. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, financially savvy, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling confidential information and multiple priorities in a small organization. The role will also assist with grant and funding activity, tracking cash receipts and expenditures, preparing reports and supporting documentation, and supporting special projects and organizational initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily cash balances, banking activity, deposits, withdrawals, and transfers
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash reports and financial schedules
• Perform bank and cash account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and monitoring of anticipated cash receipts and expenditures
• Analyze cash inflows and outflows and identify variances, trends, or unusual activity
• Track grant and funding receipts and assist with monitoring expected funding
• Review and track expenses by grant, program, department, or funding source

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience in cash management, accounting, finance, financial analysis, business operations, or a related area preferred
• Experience with bank reconciliations, cash reporting, financial analysis, or financial operations preferred
