CASH ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR
Position Overview
The position leads departmental accounts receivable operations, utilizing spreadsheets, electronic data management tools, and the automated accounting system to perform complex reconciliation and analysis of accounts receivable (AR) activity, prepares and submits reports to the Illinois Office of the Comptroller (IOC) and Office Management.
Essential Functions
- Provides technical assistance to subordinate staff and completes primary or supervisory review of cash analysis, requesting funds against the appropriate external accounts.
- Serves as working supervisor.
- Advises management of potential problem areas or audit findings.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college, with courses in business administration and accounting.
- Professional experience in accounting, external auditing, budgetary planning and control or public accounting.
Specialized Skills
- Supervisory experience in accounting cash management or accounts receivable.
- Experience processing organizational cash requests to federal or state entities.
- Experience using System Analysis Program (SAP) or similar accounting system.
- Experience preparing accounting reports.
