About The Team
The Caseworker (In-Home Family Specialist) is part of our Family Support Services team, which provides a wide array of services to help families and children grow stronger. Programs include prevention, reunification, and care coordination, all centered on permanency—supporting safe, nurturing, and lasting families while prioritizing the health and safety of the child. This role independently develops and implements service plans to promote safety, well-being, and permanency for assigned clients.
Responsibilities
- Assess client needs using formal and informal evaluations, referral source recommendations, and client preferences
- Develop and implement individual service plans addressing parenting skills, relationship-building strategies, and community resources
- Provide parent education using the Incredible Years evidence-based curriculum as needed
- Connect clients with formal and informal community resources
- Transport clients to appointments as needed
- Complete all required programming documentation in electronic health record systems accurately and on time to meet county contractual requirements
- Participate in county-requested activities, including meetings and legal proceedings
- Adhere to CPSL protocols as a mandated reporter
- Participate in scheduled team and supervision activities
- Provide supportive peer shadowing for new team members
- Complete 40 hours of ongoing professional development/training annually
- Work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet client needs
- Achieve 1,575 client service delivery hours annually
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a relevant human service field
- Minimum of one year of experience in Child Welfare
- Act 33/34 Clearances and FBI Clearance
- Valid, current driver’s license and personal automobile liability insurance with a minimum of $300,000 combined single limit coverage
- Approval to verify driving history at time of authorization and annually; approval to verify insurance coverage at time of authorization and semi-annually
- Reliable automobile with current inspection
- Ability to meet the physical and mental requirements of the job
