Caseworker Aide

About the role

The Caseworker Aide position at the Oswego County Department of Social Services provides direct contact with families whose children are in foster care. The primary responsibility is to provide transportation assistance and supervision of visitation to help reunify families and document interactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation assistance and supervision during visitation with families in foster care.
• Document interactions of family members during visitation.
• Perform clerical tasks in support of caseworker staff.

Requirements

• Completion of 60 semester credit hours or graduation from high school with a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of para-professional experience in a social service or community service agency, hospital, or physician’s office involving client or patient contact.
• Current, valid New York State driver's license at the time of appointment.

Pay

$20.78 per hour plus competitive benefits package.

Schedule

The standard workday may vary based on client need, between 8:30 am - 8:30 pm with a 30-minute lunch period. Alternate work schedules may be necessary for weekend supervised visits and transports.
