Responsibilities

• Conduct individual screenings based on inmate input to determine specific areas of need to help prepare the inmate for reentry.
• Act as a liaison for the inmate to coordinate internal programming and external community services available in preparation for release.
• Provide individual counseling/mentoring and crisis intervention as needed throughout the inmate’s period of incarceration.
• Provide classroom instruction in areas pertinent to transitioning into the community and family.
• Provide classroom instruction specific to functional and vocational competencies to prepare for job readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Criminology, Psychology, or any other human service-related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a private, public, or government sector.
• Prior experience in a correctional environment preferred.
