About the role

The Marion County Community Corrections Agency aims to enhance public safety by improving the lives of citizens through community supervision. This position focuses on raising client accountability using evidence-based practices and interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance public safety by assessing the risk and needs of clients through the IRAS and developing individual case management plans.
  • Manage and monitor clients' compliance with court orders and agency policies, including conducting on-site visits and reporting violations.
  • Prepare and send memos to courts, conduct IRAS assessments, and submit written violations when necessary.
  • Communicate with courts, treatment providers, and employers to ensure proper completion of court orders and agency requirements.
  • Work with clients to address non-compliance issues and provide appropriate referrals for services.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Respond to voicemails, emails, and resident messages in a timely manner.
  • Participate in training and education seminars to stay updated on evidence-based practices.
  • Supervise and manage a caseload of clients, ensuring compliance with rules and conditions.
  • Handle emergencies and respond to calls as needed.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Criminal Justice or a related field with 2 years of experience in the criminal justice system.
  • Ability to investigate, interview, and work with clients to ensure proper completion of court orders and agency requirements.
  • Knowledge of standard policies and procedures of MCCC, the local judicial process, and local service providers.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and motivational interviewing.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete statistical and client records.
  • Ability to comprehend and correctly use various informational documents.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Ability to handle stress and utilize emotional intelligence when dealing with clients.
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony.
  • Must become certified to conduct IRAS assessments within one year of the date of hire.
  • Must be 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.
