About the Organization
Central Maine Healthcare (CMH), a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine through a network of more than 40 primary and specialty care locations. The system includes:
- Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) in Lewiston, a 250-bed, not-for-profit regional referral hospital featuring the region's only Cancer Care Center, an orthopedic ambulatory surgery center, and the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute. CMMC also serves as the base for LifeFlight of Maine, the state's only medical helicopter service.
- Bridgton Hospital and Rumford Hospital, two 25-bed critical access hospitals providing essential care to rural communities.
CMH is home to the Maine College of Health Professions, Maine's first nursing and medical imaging school, accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education, playing a key role in training future healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Ensure quality and resource management for all admitted patients across the continuum of healthcare.
- Act as an advocate for cost containment while integrating healthcare providers to achieve seamless care delivery.
- Perform holistic and comprehensive admission and concurrent reviews of medical records to assess medical necessity, intensity of service, and severity of illness.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- BSW or other bachelor's degree in a clinical healthcare-related field.
- At least one year of experience in case management, discharge planning, or nursing management; or LVN/LPN graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a current license and 2 years of acute care experience.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of acute care experience.
- Case management certification within 2 years of hiring.
- At least one year of experience in case management, discharge planning, or management.
- Current BCLS certificate.
- Knowledge of Milliman Criteria and InterQual Criteria.
