They support adults in building healthy & hopeful lives through various services including behavioral health, housing support, and employment services. Responsibilities
- Participate in a community-wide effort to help move individuals experiencing chronic homelessness into permanent supportive housing.
- Provide case management, connection, and ongoing support to help people find and keep housing.
- Work with clients to address their needs and challenges, utilizing a person-centered approach.
- Operate autonomously and advocate for clients within the organization.
Requirements
- Experience working directly with adults in a social service, mental health service, substance abuse service, and/or homeless service setting is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field such as Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Family Studies, Human Services, or Counseling is preferred.
- Knowledge of theories of human behavior and the principles and techniques associated with recovery-based case management.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and agency/community providers.
- Ability to operate a personal vehicle for transportation of clients and travel between client locations and related appointments.
Qualifications
- This position requires clearances of state and federal background checks, multiple abuse/sex offender registries, and clearance of exclusion lists prior to employment.
- Must have access to a personal, registered, and insured vehicle to transport clients (when company vehicles aren’t available).
- Must possess a valid, active driver's license in good standing.
- Must be prepared and comfortable working outside and in settings where clients reside.
- Must demonstrate enthusiasm for working with a disadvantaged population: individuals who are homeless, disabled by mental illness, and often experiencing co-occurring substance abuse and poverty.
