About the role
The Community Associate will manage a caseload of assisted or applicant households, perform initial voucher application screening, determine and verify eligibility, conduct client briefings, and document case files and electronic records. They will also prepare and send appropriate correspondence, track responses, review yearly recertifications of household composition and income/asset information, and attend mandatory trainings.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of assisted or applicant households
- Initial voucher application screening
- Determination and verification of eligibility
- Client briefings (internal and external meetings)
- May perform community outreach to assist Section 8 participation
- Prepare and send appropriate correspondence, track responses
- Document case files and electronic records, file preparation
- Rent calculations
- Review of yearly recertifications of household composition and income/asset information
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple cases while prioritizing cases for processing
- Attend mandatory trainings
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
Qualifications
- Excellent Communication Skills (both orally and in writing)
- Strong Customer Service Focus
- Computer Proficiency
- Bilingual a Plus
- Section 8 or other Rental Subsidy experience a Plus
