Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of participant cases by administering program policies and procedures as directed by the contracting agency and Program Manager or Supervising Case Manager.
  • Apply and model principles of the “What Works” evidence-based system in all interactions with participants and staff.
  • Meet with supervised offenders at least once per week to review progress and ensure participation in required programming.
  • Monitor each participant’s progress, recommend corrective measures for substandard performance, and report to the assigned NJSPB representative or responsible agency.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of program modalities to ensure appropriate matches for participants.
  • Prepare and finalize discharge/continuing care plans, forwarding all documentation to the NJSPB or responsible agency upon discharge.
  • Conduct risk/need assessments and create individual treatment plans for each participant.
  • Document participants’ progress or regress in the company database.
  • Conduct orientation meetings to explain program rules, regulations, and participant contracts.
  • Set participant schedules and approve temporary changes for approved activities.
  • Collect participant fees when required and notify the Program Manager of delinquencies.
  • Monitor participant compliance with alcohol and/or drug counseling.
  • Report program violations to the appropriate agency via established parameters.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and relay technical problems to the Program Manager.
  • Review daily summaries and forward reports to the appropriate agency as required.
  • Report regularly on program operations to ensure documentation is prepared for court review.
  • Represent the company in interactions with elected officials and public figures in the criminal justice system.
  • Facilitate psycho-educational/behavior modification groups weekly, documenting attendance, participation, and progress.
  • Testify in court regarding participants’ compliance with court orders.
  • Screen participants at jail for program entry.
  • Learn and perform backup duties of Client Services Specialist, including office operations, participant intakes, check-ins, breath analysis, and drug screens.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or Social Sciences.
  • One year of experience in casework providing services to supervised offender populations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of case management, referral services, and interventions in group and individual modalities.
  • Ability to administer urinalysis testing.
  • Basic knowledge of the criminal justice system.
  • Strong presentation, public speaking, and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to work in a typical office environment with direct participant contact.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly workflow.
  • Ability to express thoughts logically in written and verbal form using correct grammar.
  • Flexibility to perform a wide range of duties.
