Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review each recipient’s treatment and habilitation goals monthly and inform staff of any changes in the recipient’s status.
- Serve as a liaison between RTR and the community representing a positive and pro-active attitude at all times.
- Participate in the Positive Behavior Support initiative and complete the Quality Behavior Curriculum.
- Provide transportation to community activities as needed.
- Attend and participate in all meetings concerning assigned individuals.
- Assist and support individuals as needed with physical direct care/dietary needs, may include: physical or mechanical transfer of individuals from wheelchairs to a van, chair, toilet etc.
- Implement all behavioral plan interventions as assigned, these behavioral interventions may include physical restraint.
- Cooperate and interact with co-workers, clients, volunteers, and funders in a collaborative, courteous, empathic, and professional manner.
- Adhere to all RTR policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human service or related field and one year experience in ID/DD program, or no degree and three years experience in a developmental disability program.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and the internet.
- Successful completion of all state and agency mandated trainings.
- Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies.
- Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
