Family Tree GOALS is a 2Gen Model Shelter with a nine-month stay dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for families with children experiencing or at risk of homelessness. GOALS offers advocacy services and case management to families and operates 24/7 in Aurora, Arapahoe County.
Responsibilities
- Provide advocacy, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution to households affected by domestic violence and homelessness.
- Maintain confidentiality of shelter, employees, and client information per Family Tree policies.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of domestic violence and its impact on survivors and children.
- Assist residents with housing navigation, benefits acquisition, educational/vocational referrals, financial empowerment, behavioral/health referrals, goal setting, life skills, and establishing a personal support network.
- Promptly enter documentation and information into Salesforce, HMIS, and other tracking systems for grant reporting.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of client interactions.
- Follow up on applications for services and complete intakes of new clients.
- Communicate with partner agencies and professionals to better serve clients.
- Adhere to Family Tree’s Continuous Improvement Practice, including completing client support tools and sending feedback/post-exit surveys.
- Support volunteers, interns, and other staff at Family Tree shelters.
- Coordinate with the Program Director for materials and items needed.
Requirements
- Proficiency in English required.
- Access to reliable transportation daily.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed by the program.
Working Environment
This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, in-office position. The shelter operates 24/7, 365 days a year, and the schedule may vary based on program needs. Applicants must be comfortable with sitting/standing for long periods, talking, hearing (ordinary conversation), reading paperwork, and computer work, as well as possessing manual dexterity for operating computers and telephones.
