Trainings
- BLS Required existing incumbents with Heart Saver First Aid CPR/AED, to be renewed with BLS.
- All new hires must have BLS within 90 days from date of hire or transfer.
Position Summary
The Case Manager CCBHC completes all required educational interventions. This position assists in the completion of screening process and accurately reports information to team members and clients and families.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete all required educational interventions.
- Accurately reports information to team members and participates with team members and clients/families in the completion of a Service Plan within established time frames.
- Demonstrates knowledge of crisis intervention and behavior management of aggressive behavior.
- Accurately documents all client interaction within established time frames.
- Provides services to clients/families in their native language or is able to procure the services of a translator.
- Seeks supervision in a professional manner and documents supervision.
- Participates with team members and clients/families in discharge planning.
- Develops an adequate professional relationship with all referral sources and relevant community agencies.
- Adequately responds to the needs of clients, families and referral sources.
- Provides core services to clients as assigned.
- As appropriate to scope of practice, assists in the data collection for each assigned client, including the following: The relationship of each client’s physical status to dependence. The nature of the comparison to use alcohol and/or other drugs. The intensity of the client’s mental preoccupation with using alcohol and/or drugs.
- Maintains positive community supports.
- Maintains compliance with the DMHAS licensing regulations including the confidentiality of drug and alcohol clients.
- Participates in treatment team conferences to support best practices.
- Models and supports clients and staff in health and wellness activities and with using healthy coping skills.
Qualifications
- Licensure/Certification: Current and valid NJ driver’s license.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health field required.
- Experience: At least one year experience in behavioral health field or appropriate internship required.
- Understands and supports a trauma-informed system of care.
- Experience with illness management a& recovery (IMR) and motivational interviewing (MI) preferred.
- Excellent computer skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Self-directed and flexible to meet the needs of administration and management.
- Sensitivity to a cultural diverse client population and workplace required.
