CASES is looking for an independent self-starter to be a Career Coach for the PEAK program, a phase-based job readiness program for young adults (17-19) under the supervision of the Department of Probation. This position supports the Education and Career Services (ECS) team, working with youth and young adults ages 17-27 to develop their employability skills and long-term employment. Services are expected to be done in person—at the office and/or in the community.
Location: 424 E 147th Street, Ground Floor, Bronx, NY, 10455. Our office is easily accessible by public transportation.
Responsibilities
- Follow up on participant referrals made by the Department of Probation to engage youth in programming
- Maintain partnership with probation officers and provide updates regarding their youth
- Facilitate job readiness and life skills groups and/or individual sessions
- Maintain documentation and process participant stipend payments
- Plan and execute service-learning projects with program participants
- Refer participants to support services when needed
- Maintain up-to-date documentation in databases
- Attend trainings and team meetings
- Other duties as assigned by Team Leader or Director of Education & Career Services
Requirements
- 2 years of work with youth and/or young adults
- Experience working with justice-involved and/or opportunity youth
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Experience developing relationships with external partners
- Commitment to active youth engagement
- Trained in or committed to training to become competent in trauma-informed approaches as a means of engaging young people

Pay
$60,000 per year
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Flexible workplace arrangements (e.g., drafting notes at home after in-person office/community work)
