Case Coordinator

About the role

CASES is seeking a Case Coordinator for the Brooklyn Pretrial Services team. The coordinator conducts Supervision Introduction/Orientation meetings with new participants shortly after release, helps participants comply with supervision appointments and court appearances, conducts ongoing service‑need assessments, and develops collaborative service plans. The role emphasizes strengths‑based, gender‑specific, and culturally sensitive services that follow the core principles of risk, need, and responsivity to reduce recidivism and support participants toward treatment, recovery, rehabilitation, and crime‑free community integration.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and community‑based services to a caseload of pretrial participants.
• Within 24‑48 hours of release, conduct Supervision Introduction/Orientation meetings to review supervision conditions, reporting schedules, and mandatory communication methods.
• Collaborate with the court and pretrial staff to ensure participants complete mandated supervision appointments and court appearances.
• Review legal and court screening documentation and work with participants to analyze offending behavior patterns and identify needed supports.
• Conduct ongoing service‑need assessments covering psychosocial needs, mental health and substance‑use severity, and motivation for treatment.
• Link participants to appropriate treatment services, provide escorts to community services, and ensure timely outreach and case‑management activities.
• Utilize problem‑solving techniques and motivational interviewing as integral parts of case management.
• Deliver services in a gender‑responsive, trauma‑informed manner adhering to risk‑need‑responsivity principles.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with community providers (housing, health homes, addiction and mental‑health treatment, peer‑run services, education, vocational, legal, medical, and family providers).
• Follow community‑based monitoring protocols for high‑risk participants and participate in case reviews.
• Enter assessments, supervision appointment reports, and progress notes into the program database; complete electronic charting in compliance with confidentiality regulations.
• Meet monthly case‑management contact and outreach goals set by supervisory staff.
• Provide culturally competent services in accordance with CASES policies.
• Perform any other duties as required by the Program Director or supervisory staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 1–2 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree with at least three years of experience working in human services with individuals who have substance‑use disorders, co‑occurring mental health issues, and involvement in the criminal justice system.
• Extensive knowledge of community treatment, support services, and resources.
• Understanding of the criminal justice system, court processes, and alternatives to detention/incarceration.
• Experience using databases such as Salesforce.

Preferred Skills

• Spanish speaking (a plus).

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit for extended periods.

Pay

Salary: $61,193 per year.

Schedule

Full‑time, Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (35 hours per week, excluding breaks). Hybrid work model with at least one full remote day per week.
