Purpose of Assignment
The Evaluation Office of UNICEF is conducting the Evaluation of child protection systems strengthening for prevention of and response to violence against children and women, an evaluation included in the UNICEF Plan for Global Evaluations 2026–2029. The evaluation focuses on an important programme area for the organization given the breadth of the child right deprivations that programs intend to address, the scale of the investment and the strategic importance of violence prevention and response.
Scope of Work
Under the supervision of the Evaluation Team Leader, and with the technical guidance provided by the Case-based Causal Methods Lead consultant, the incumbent will contribute to Workstream 2 of the evaluation of child protection systems strengthening for prevention of and response to violence against children and women, described in detail in the Evaluation Terms of Reference (TOR).
Consultant’s Role
- Support the implementation and application of the QCA Case-based Causal approach to generate cross-nationally comparable evidence contributing to the evaluation as established in the Terms of Reference (TOR).
- Contribute to preparation of the QCA model specification, data protocol design, QCA running (superset/subset analysis, Boolean minimization, prime implicants), training and guidance of other evaluation team members, and the preparation of the presentation of findings.
- Contribute with quality inputs and drafting of products, revisions of drafts, and finalizations for tasks, as per the TOR.
