About the Role

The case aid will support the EFFC Programs to assist families reunifying with their children.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supporting the CP Team.
  • Assist in planning and executing EFFC events.
  • Manage mail and correspondence, including family planning letters, filing, and calendars.
  • Manage and organize case records for the unit, including creating new case records and closing old ones.
  • Develop and maintain a filing system.
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports.
  • Document all services appropriately.
  • Serve as the point person for organizing all the department’s large mailings.
  • Participate in scheduled staff meetings and staff training.
  • Arrange, transport, and supervise visitations between children placed in out-of-home care, their parents, siblings, and/or significant others to promote continued relationships.
  • Coach families in communication to foster positive family relations.
  • Provide education for parents on accessing emergency assistance, supports, and community resources.
  • Assist families with goal setting, planning, and other home management tasks.
  • Schedule and confirm visiting schedules with birth parents and foster parents in accordance with the visitation plan.
  • Provide supervision for visits with approval of the program manager.
  • Work creatively to solve scheduling conflicts and facilitate visitation by providing transportation, childcare, suggesting alternate sites, and providing weekend supervision (with supervisory approval).
  • Attend all internal and external trainings and meetings as required.
  • Provide written reports to case planners within 48 hours of visits for timely entry into Connections.
  • Perform other assigned tasks within the scope of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required, preferably with 1 year of experience working with children and families in the field of child welfare.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license required.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strengths-focused mindset, with a belief that change is possible and the ability to inspire hope.
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent verbal, written, time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule

Due to the nature of the work environment, work hours will vary, including evenings, and will be based on the needs of the program.

Pay

$21.97 per hour.
