CASE AIDE-ADULT PROTECTION
About the role
The Case Aide performs a variety of tasks related to the rendering of appropriate paraprofessional social services and related work as assigned. Work is performed under the day-to-day direction of social workers and oversight of a social service supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Complete documentation and other activities in follow-up to Adult Protection Services (APS) screenings.
- Manage SSIS records related to all APS Intake and Maltreatment workgroups.
- Work closely with APS Social Workers to assist with coordinating supportive services for Vulnerable Adults.
- Assist with documentation as requested by APS Social Workers.
- Manage, in consultation with APS Social Workers, the scheduling, reminders and agendas for McLeod County Adult Protection Team (MCAP) meetings.
- Assist in managing other work related to the APS and Assessor teams.
- Complete training as required and/or other job-related training opportunities.
- Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
- Three (3) years of successful clerical experience and/or experience working with the public, or
- Two (2) years of successful clerical experience in a social service/human services agency, or
- Two (2) years of experience as a community service aide or similar experience in a private non-profit agency or other public agency, or
- Two (2) years of study at an accredited two (2) or four (4) year college/university or similar institution, with emphasis in the behavioral sciences (at least 23 quarter credits or 16 semester credits).
Required Certifications/Licenses
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license with proof of insurance.
Work Relationships
Regular interaction with County staff.
Work Conditions
- Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment.
- Work may involve contacts with emotionally disturbed or hostile individuals.
Physical Requirements
- Desk work involving use of a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
- Ability to read screens and communicate effectively with County staff.
- Office work may include reaching for documents, grasping documents, standing, walking, and repetitive motions.
- Lift and carry files and material weighing up to 25 pounds.

Background Check
All positions at McLeod County are subject to a background check, which may include criminal history, credit, driver’s license, pre-employment physical assessment, pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, and psychological testing.
Pay
The 2026 salary range for this position is $20.66 to $30.99 per hour depending on experience. Relevant previous experience will be taken into consideration. Our organization values pay equity, and hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
