About the role
The Lab Technician supports Liberty University’s program by assisting the instructor in both classroom and laboratory settings. This role is responsible for independently maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient learning environment by overseeing equipment, enforcing safety protocols, and managing lab operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist the instructor during lessons, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
- Maintain a safe and organized learning environment by monitoring student use of tools and equipment, enforcing safety procedures, and ensuring compliance with university standards.
- Receive, organize, and distribute materials for student projects.
- Supervise and instruct trade-related work, including independent thinking in essential functions and decision-making ability.
- Ensure the lab and classroom remain clean, orderly, and conducive to learning.
- Guide students on proper tool usage and techniques.
- Lift a minimum of 50lb.
- Adhere to Liberty University policies and represent the University in an exemplary manner.
- Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering Liberty University’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.
- Create remediation plans as needed to assist students with improved technique when conducting performance tests.
- Employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions.
- View each student as a unique individual and provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests.
Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of four years of field experience in the given trade or a certificate in the trade.
- A degree and/or licenses or certificates related to the field are preferred.
Skills
- Effective communication both verbally and in writing.
- Public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Computer skills.

Pay
