CASAC - Dual Recovery Specialist

About the role

RiseWell Community Services is seeking a Full-Time Dual Recovery Specialist to provide services to clients residing in a licensed residential program in Brentwood. In this role, you will provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and linkage to outside agencies for people residing in the program. Services include medication monitoring, skill-building development, symptom management, socialization, transportation training, and connections to psychiatric and medical services.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to clients in recovery from serious mental illness and substance use disorders.
• Perform crisis intervention and support symptom management.
• Assist with skill-building development and socialization activities.
• Facilitate transportation training and connections to psychiatric and medical services.
• Link clients to outside agencies and community resources.

Requirements

• CASAC (Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor) or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services.
• Three years’ experience working with the dual-diagnosed population.
• Knowledge of residential services, substance abuse, medical diagnoses, and evidence-based practices.
• Clean, valid NY State Driver’s License.
• Must pass fingerprinting, criminal record check, and receive approval from NYS Office of Mental Health.
