CASAC - Dual Recovery Specialist

About the role

RiseWell Community Services is seeking a Full-Time Dual Recovery Specialist providing services to clients residing in a licensed residential program in Brentwood.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling
• Crisis intervention
• Linkage to outside agencies for people residing in a licensed residential program
• Assist with medication monitoring
• Support skill-building development
• Manage symptoms
• Facilitate socialization activities
• Train in transportation skills
• Connect with psychiatric and medical services
• Implement evidence-based practices

Requirements

• CASAC certification or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services
• Three years’ experience working with the dual-diagnosed population
• Knowledge of residential services, substance abuse, medical diagnoses, and evidence-based practices
• Clean, valid NY State Driver’s License
• Fingerprinting, criminal record check, approval from NYS Office of Mental Health

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field
• Experience working with the dual-diagnosed population
• Knowledge of residential services, substance abuse, medical diagnoses, and evidence-based practices
• Clean, valid NY State Driver’s License
• Fingerprinting, criminal record check, approval from NYS Office of Mental Health

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
