Carwash Attendant

Store location: 1347 N Baker Street, McMinnville, Oregon 97128

Full time, flexible shifts (days, evenings, overnights, weekends)

Responsibilities

• Customer Satisfaction
  • Provide prompt, excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner
  • Greet customers upon entry and thank them upon departure
  • Assist customers and offer product suggestions or recommendations
  • Accurately ring up sales on the cash register, handling money, checks, and other payment types
  • Operate fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, and process telecom transactions
  • Report to work on time and adhere to the dress and appearance code
• Facility Condition
  • Maintain store cleanliness inside and out, including basic upkeep and cleaning of all equipment
  • Inspect store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order
  • Notify Store Manager of any equipment failure or maintenance/supply needs
• Merchandising
  • Complete build-to orders for purchasing merchandise
  • Receive and verify vendor deliveries
  • Maintain adequate stock throughout the store and in counter areas; rotate stock properly
  • Place advertising and pricing signage inside or outside the facility, including marquees, ceilings, walls, and windows
• Sales Controls
  • Control merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses
  • Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and conducting shift audits
• Financial Controls
  • Maintain accurate cash, sales, and inventory control records; account for variances
  • Notify Store Manager of any sales, cash, or inventory discrepancies
  • Follow Company and/or brand guidelines for product breakage or spoilage
• Security Controls
  • Report incidents including employee or customer injuries, theft, property damage, or improper sanitation/waste disposal to the Store Manager
  • Report any situation involving unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct
• Administrative
  • Maintain accurate records of all shift and timekeeping paperwork
  • May take inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Attend job-related meetings (may require irregular hours)
  • Provide regular and predictable onsite attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Retail sales experience preferred
• Ability to accurately operate equipment such as cash registers, scanners, hot/cold beverage dispensers, and other machines or tools
• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including arriving on time
• Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in cold or warm temperature extremes, including occasional work in walk-in coolers/freezers and outdoors
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (e.g., stocking inventory)
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist (e.g., replenishing fountain syrups)
• Ability to grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for an entire shift, requiring eye-hand coordination
• Ability to push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds (e.g., using a hand-truck)
• Ability to reach overhead for objects
• Ability to bend and twist at the waist
• Ability to communicate orally
• Ability to operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard
• Ability to stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull
• Ability to work alone
• Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift
• May require climbing a ladder to store/retrieve materials or place/remove signs
• Exposure to occasional noise

Work Environment

• Perform approximately 95% of work indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks (e.g., cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, taking out garbage)
• Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while working in walk-in coolers/freezers
• Exposure to occasional noise
• Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision

Pay

$15.55 per hour
