Responsibilities
- Operates vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements, as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.
- Performs pre-and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and documents checks on standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
- Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service-related issues to the route Manager or Dispatch.
- Participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings required by Live Oak Environmental or the Route Manager.
- Works closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
- Notifies the Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Notifies Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots, street, alleyways, or potential safety hazards.
- Communicates customer requests to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Frequently enters and exits both the cab and trailer to manually/physically deliver new empty roll carts and collect material-loaded roll carts weighing in excess of 65 pounds.
- Works daily with the routing team and dispatchers to ensure efficient sequential orders for delivery and removals.
- Works daily with the local on-site cart maintenance team to ensure proper cart inventory needs.
- Completes and submits customer tickets as required, using on-board computer technology.
- Completes basic field service repairs on carts, such as lid swaps and axle/wheel repairs.
- Completes site evaluations to ensure locations are conducive for safe and proper servicing.
- Delivers carts on the customer’s property in a manner that ensures safe and easy recovery by the customer.
- Follows route assignments as directed and completes end-of-day documentation and the check-out process.
- Performs all duties as scheduled by the Route Manager or Dispatch and assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
Qualifications
- Hold a current Driver's License.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen.
