About the Role
The Carside Server delivers food and beverages to guests, ensuring a courteous and timely experience while adhering to Applebee’s service standards. This role supports a positive work environment aligned with company values and contributes to guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and create a friendly, upbeat atmosphere.
- Familiarize guests with the menu and provide recommendations when requested.
- Take orders in person or via phone and input them accurately into the POS system.
- Deliver food and beverages to guests in their vehicles or the dining room.
- Pre-bus tables, restock supplies, and maintain a clean and comfortable workspace.
- Collect payments promptly using QR codes or the POS system.
- Complete daily cleaning tasks to ensure a safe working environment.
- Anticipate guest needs to enhance their experience.
- Verify the accuracy, packaging, and labeling of all carside to-go orders.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on exceeding guest expectations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork orientation.
- Willingness to take initiative and maintain a strong work ethic.
- Effective verbal communication with guests, both in person and over the phone.
- Flexibility to work variable schedules, including evenings and weekends.
- Mobility for a minimum of 4 hours, with the ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Legal age to serve alcohol.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents (e.g., contracts, operating instructions, manuals).
- Proficiency in writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Strong verbal communication for interacting with customers and employees.
- Problem-solving skills for practical situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to follow instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, walking, and use of hands to handle objects or operate equipment.
- Occasional lifting and moving of objects up to 30 pounds.
- Close vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work in a team environment and handle fast-paced, changing conditions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Work Environment
The role primarily operates within the restaurant but may occasionally require travel to other locations by automobile, either alone or with a coworker.
