About the Role
The Carside Server delivers food and beverages to guests, ensuring a courteous and timely experience while adhering to Applebee’s service standards. This role fosters a culture aligned with the company’s Core Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and interact with every guest to create a friendly, upbeat work environment.
- Familiarize guests with the menu and make appropriate suggestions when requested.
- Take guest orders in person or via phone and input them correctly into the POS system.
- Deliver food and beverages to guests either in their vehicle or in the dining room.
- Pre-bus tables, restock, and reset the working area, and sweep to maintain cleanliness.
- Collect payment from customers promptly using QR codes or the POS system.
- Complete daily cleaning tasks and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
- Anticipate guests' needs to facilitate an enjoyable experience.
- Check all carside to-go orders for accuracy, proper packaging, and labels.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to exceed guests’ expectations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while multitasking.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to communicate with guests verbally, in person, or over the phone.
- Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to be mobile for a minimum of 4 hours, bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Legal age to serve alcohol.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to solve practical problems in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Frequently required to sit, talk, hear, walk, use hands and fingers to handle objects, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work in a team environment and handle a fast-paced setting.
- Flexibility and willingness to accept change.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment
On occasion, travel in an automobile to other locations may be required, either alone or with a co-worker.
