Responsibilities
- Negotiating with carriers in order to maximize profitability/ improve efficiency by identifying ways to improve cost savings;
- Using various software tools to assist in finding equipment/freight and calculating rates;
- Scheduling/Coordinating truck shipments and addressing any issues that come up during transit;
- Maintaining carrier database by keeping pricing and contact information current;
- Auditing/correcting carrier freight invoices and BOL's as necessary for payment;
- Dispatching drivers/carriers on routes;
- Ensuring accurate recording of arrival and departure times.
Requirements
- 3-7 years experience in freight brokerage/3PL, with a desire to grow professionally (an asset);
- Experience with Salesforce;
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines;
- Demonstrated ability to stay current and accurately interpret industry trends;
- A true passion for sales and logistics - must be a self-starter, self-directed and highly motivated;
- Excellent customer service, communication, and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry systems);
- Ability to positively influence culture and behavior and work effectively with all levels within the company;
