About the role

IAP World Services, an Intrepid Global Solutions company, operates and maintains facilities, systems, and associated grounds across Virginia and Maryland under a major Intelligence Community contract. Services include comprehensive facility operations, project management, engineering, construction, and operations support, custodial and grounds maintenance, environmental, safety, and occupational health support, food services, motorpool and logistics operations, and physical and technical security services.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry duties necessary to maintain building woodwork and equipment such as bins, cribs, counters, benches, partitions, and doors.
• Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions.
• Use a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments.
• Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work.
• Select materials necessary for the work.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of related experience as a craft worker
• Certification in assigned area may be required

• Complete acquaintance with and understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job, and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
