Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of carpentry duties as assigned.
• Provide carpentry services, including:
  • Design, construction, installation, and repair of wooden fixtures and structures (e.g., cabinets, furniture, shelving, doors, plaques, and custom wood products).
  • Framing and finish work.
  • Painting and staining.
  • Installing ceiling tile grids.
  • Installing commercial-style carpet tiles.
• Monitor subcontractor performance as assigned.
• Conduct jobsite troubleshooting.
• Perform primary project layout and carpentry production.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with minimum 4+ years of experience.
• U.S. Citizenship required for eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Ability to read and understand architectural drawings as well as follow and enforce safety procedures.
• Ability to construct metal framing partition walls, including drywall finishing and painting to a level 5 finish.
• Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade.
• Records maintenance skills.

Abilities

• Lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform tasks such as loading and unloading, operating equipment, and transporting materials while following proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
• Relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
• Work at various heights up to 60 feet, including climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
• Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
• Possess good vision (may be corrected), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
• Use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
• Recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong (does not involve solving the problem).
• Apply general rules to specific problems to produce logical answers.
• Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, including finding relationships among seemingly unrelated events.
• See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
