Carpenter Lead
Responsibilities
- Set up trailers
- Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and measure dimensions
- Build decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures; install shelves, setup tool trailers/conex’s
- Hand-set forms and assemble gang forms
- Lead journeyman and assist foreman with shooting grades and elevations
- Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials
- Perform concrete and rough carpentry (hand set walls, footings, gang wall forms, structural concrete decks)
- Work autonomously under minimal direction from carpenter foreman to lead small crews in the safe execution of concrete work
- Track quantities and hours to analyze production rates and report to carpenter foreman and superintendent
- Identify material, consumables, and safety equipment needs well in advance to support proactive project planning with the assistance of carpenter foreman and superintendent
- Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels; perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of seven (7) years carpentry experience
- Trade or technical school certification/diploma preferred
- Ability to work with precision, visualize solid objects from drawings, and speak and understand English
- Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback
- Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
