Carpenter / Laborer Fort Bragg

StructSure Projects is seeking General Carpenter(s) / Laborer(s) for a job site at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This role involves carpentry and labor duties on government construction projects. Access to military bases requires a clean background check and a valid, current driver’s license. The position is covered under the Davis-Bacon Act, with prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits determined by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry and labor tasks, including basic wall construction, door hardware installation, miscellaneous accessory installation, maintenance, and clean-up (sweeping, mopping).
• Install casework and assist site management staff as directed.
• Ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards.

Requirements

• Construction experience on government projects is required.
• Clean background check and valid, current driver’s license.
• Minimum 3 years of carpentry experience, preferably in healthcare construction.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Familiarity with infection control and OSHA safety standards.
• CPR/Standard First Aid certificate; OSHA 10 certificate preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade school attendance (e.g., carpentry).
• Self-driven, dependable, and committed to high-quality finished work.
• Strong communication skills and knowledge of the construction industry.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Ability to navigate construction sites for extended periods, including exposure to equipment (bulldozers, cranes, backhoes, trucks).
• Perform manual labor: lifting/moving equipment, ascending/descending scaffolds/ladders, working at heights, maintaining balance.
• Full range of mobility in upper and lower body; ability to handle/operate tools and materials.
• In-person communication and directional awareness; color distinction for crane operators, drivers, and powder-actuated equipment operators.
• Depth perception and coordinated eye-hand-finger movements.
• Exposure to fast-changing environments, weather conditions, high noise levels, uneven terrain, and potential contact with contagious illnesses in healthcare settings.
