Carpenter Journeyman

Archer Western Construction is seeking a Carpenter for the West Bartow Water Reclamation Facility in Kingston, GA. The role involves constructing, erecting, and installing structures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials using carpentry hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines for commercial, industrial, or heavy civil projects.

Responsibilities

• Measures distance and marks guidelines on working surfaces to prepare for laying down work
• Prepares, builds, and installs wooden structures in line with prefabricated units to form bridges, drain structures, walls, and additional structures
• May assist with installation of awnings and metal decking for concrete slabs (if decking is removed)
• Uses carpenter’s belt with carpentry hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery

Requirements

• 3–5 years of verifiable experience preferred
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds/ladders
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions
• Ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with co-workers and supervisors
• Strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Good manual dexterity; may require standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting for long periods
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening

This is a full-time position within the Water Division.
