Brief Description POSITION: Carpenter Self Perform CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Project Director DATE: January 2026 Job Description Position Overview The Carpenter will perform a variety of rough carpentry, finish carpentry and general construction tasks to support project teams. This position requires frequent overnight travel to project sites for the duration of the project. Essential Functions Perform carpentry work including but not limited to the following: Install, repair, and maintain handrails in commercial settingsSet and align doors, door frames, and install door hardwareRough carpentry including framing, blocking, and structural modificationsInstall casework, millwork, and specialty carpentry componentsInstall Windowsills and Countertops. Construct temporary walls, temporary windows, and other temp enclosures for jobsite safety and phasingInstall bathroom partitions, accessories, and related fixturesRead, interpret, and work from construction drawings, blueprints, and specificationsOperate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficientlyEnsure all work meets quality standards and adheres to company and jobsite safety policiesCommunicate with site supervisors, project managers, and clients professionallyMaintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spentEnsures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Successful completion of vocational school or technical college or apprenticeship program; OR at least 7 years of experience via on-the-job trainingAbility to solve mathematical problems quickly and accuratelyCertified to operate lifts, lulls, skid steers, etc. Ability to properly care for and use tools of tradeThorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing, climbing. Bending, and kneeling Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination Travel This position requires full-time travel to various job sites for the duration of the project.
