Responsibilities

• Completing Maintenance & Repairs – Complete small to medium maintenance and repairs for home and commercial projects. Project length can range from two hours to two days.
• Making Recommendations and Managing Expectations with Customers – Communicate with customers to help them understand what they need to have done and manage expectations about the scope of work and costs.
• Create Life-Long Customers – Deliver a great experience that wows life-long repeat customers. Follow the Mr. Handyman Way – a repeatable process that makes it easy to wow the customer every time.

Performance Metrics

• Customer Satisfaction (NPS) – For every job, encourage customers to complete a survey to rate their satisfaction. Need both a high response rate and high satisfaction rate.
• Revenue Target – Our office gets you in the customer's door; you provide the knowledge and skills to do the job and recommend additional ways to be of service.
• Effective Billing Rate – Invoice appropriately, source any needed materials, and collect payment from the customer.
• Recall Percentage – We guarantee all our work for one year. Work needs to be done correctly the first time.

Requirements

• Live within the area
• 5+ years' experience as a paid handyman or tradesman
• Own your own tools
• Be insurable for driving our vehicle
• Be bondable with good character
• Complete a background and driving record check
• Able to lift 50 pounds independently
• Able to safely work at heights and work overhead for extended periods of time
• Professional appearance and maintain company-provided vehicle
• Strong proficiency in at least three of the following:
  • Carpentry work
  • Bathroom improvements
  • Kitchen improvements
  • Painting, both inside and out
  • Drywall work, minor and major repairs
  • Minor plumbing and electrical
  • Floor installation and refurbishing
  • Familiar with building codes
• Ability to self-manage; most work completed independently
• Ability to evaluate jobs and set expectations and estimated job costs
• Provide excellent customer service and collect payments
• Familiarity with technology
• Document the job while following the Mr. Handyman Way process
• Respect the customer's home, wear booties, follow safety practices

Pay & Benefits

• Pay range: $24 to $30 per hour, dependent on experience
• Company van provided – gas, maintenance and insurance paid
