Responsibilities

• Completing small to medium maintenance and repairs for home and commercial projects (project length can range from two hours to two days)
• Making recommendations and managing expectations with customers about the scope of work and costs
• Creating life-long customers by delivering a great experience that wows repeat customers
• Following the Mr. Handyman Way—a repeatable process that ensures customer satisfaction

Performance Metrics

• Customer Satisfaction (NPS): Encourage customers to complete a survey to rate their satisfaction; high response and satisfaction rates are required
• Revenue Target: Find additional ways to be of service to the customer once on-site
• Effective Billing Rate: Invoice appropriately, source materials, and collect payment
• Recall Percentage: Guarantee all work for one year; ensure it is done correctly the first time

Requirements

• Live within the area
• 10+ years’ experience as a paid handyman
• Own your own tools
• Be insurable for driving our vehicle
• Able to lift 50 pounds independently
• Able to safely work at heights and overhead for extended periods
• Professional appearance and maintenance of company-provided vehicle
• Strong proficiency in at least three (3) of the following:
  • Carpentry work
  • Bathroom improvements
  • Kitchen improvements
  • Painting (interior and exterior)
  • Drywall work (minor and major repairs)
  • General plumbing and electrical (where allowed by law)
  • Floor installation and refurbishing
  • Familiarity with building codes

Skills & Qualifications

• Self-management (you’ll often work alone)
• Excellent customer service, including asking for reviews and collecting payments
• Ability to use technology and document jobs following the Mr. Handyman Way
• Wear proper PPE and booties to protect customers’ homes
• Alignment with company culture and vision

Pay

The pay range for this position is $55,000 to $75,000 and is dependent on your experience as a professional handyman as well as your experience with other home repair and maintenance projects.
