Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated professional to join their Prototype Maintenance and Availabilities team. This role offers the opportunity to plan, lay out, and perform a wide variety of complicated carpentry work, install and repair industrial grade door hardware, mount large televisions and whiteboards, and more.
- Plan, lay out and perform a wide variety of complicated carpentry work from blueprints, instructions, etc., involving finish construction work, inside trim, etc, with or without the assistance of other Carpenters, Helpers, etc.
- Install, repair and replace industrial grade door hardware including closers, panic bars, hinges and locking mechanisms.
- Mount large televisions and whiteboards.
- Install and repair sheetrock including taping, mudding and finishing.
- Perform suspended ceiling tile replacement and grid repair.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, architectural drawings, and technical specifications to plan layouts and material requirements.
- Set forms, pour and finish concrete for equipment bollards and floor patches.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
- A highschool diploma or equivalent
- Journeyman carpenter with a minimum of 5 years of related experience
Preferred Skills
- Ability to erect and dismantle temporary scaffolding structures.
- Experience installing, repairing and replacing industrial grade door hardware including closers, panic bars, hinges and locking mechanisms.
- Experience installing and repairing sheetrock including taping, mudding and finishing.
- Ability to perform suspended ceiling tile replacement and grid repair.
- Experience with the use of power tools such as table saws, band saws, drills, impact drivers, panel saws and hand tools.
- Experience with setting forms, pouring and finishing concrete for equipment bollards and floor patches.

Pay Range
$39.80 hourly
