Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities May Include Carman Welder/Road Truck – Emergency Response to performing car repair on road trucks in and away from origin point. Performing work as assigned by Foreman.
Daily work is conducted in a safety sensitive environment where the working conditions can include diverse and extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet), walking and performing work on uneven surfaces, working on or around loud noises, fumes, and heavy/moving machinery.
Requirements
- Able to work now and in the future without BNSF’s assistance (whether monetary, through sponsorship, or otherwise) in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN nonimmigrant status).
- At least 21 years of age or will be by the start date listed above.
- Have a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or able to obtain one within 60 days of employment.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs without assistance.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
- Able to visually distinguish among red, blue, green, and yellow colors.
- Able to hear and, with training, distinguish auditory signals.
- Able to perform work on uneven surfaces, including frequently climbing ladders and on/off equipment.

Pay
Salary Range: Entry Rate $37.18/hr; Full Rate $44.26/hr - annual pay of $77,331- $92,060 w/3 - 5 years seniority
Schedule
This is a full-time (40hrs/wk) position and is subject to on-call, overtime, nights, alternating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Mechanical shops operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. May be required to report to the work location within 30 minutes of call.
