CCMB is responsible for providing care, treatment and support across the entire cancer service spectrum - from prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and care, and palliation or end of life care. Volunteer Opportunity Details Volunteer Opportunity ID: 6355 Description of Duties: The volunteer will guide and support patients as they choose a wig and headwear. Follow the provided script to assist patients with wigs and head coverings, and explain wig care to the patient.Provide information to patients regarding the services and policies of the Caring Room.Provide information about the Look Good, Feel Better program and other workshops.As needed, assist patients in registering online for the Look Good, Feel Better program.Provide clerical assistance to the coordinator as needed.Keep the room tidy, using cleaning products as instructed.Accept wig returns and donations and keep a record of these.Brush and style wigs as needed.Fill shampoo and conditioner bottles, restock supplies as needed. Skills Required The volunteer must have a caring attitude and excellent communication skills.The volunteer must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook and Excel).The volunteer should be familiar with CancerCare, personally or in a supportive role for someone else.
