As part of our expansion, we are seeking a proactive and skilled Cargo Superintendent to strengthen our global operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare load and discharge operations, including stowage, lifting, lashing, securing, ballast, and shipping manuals.
  • Pre-plan and coordinate cargo loading and discharge operations worldwide.
  • Perform stability, acceleration, and sea fastening calculations, as well as arrange materials and external assistance as defined in ISM procedures.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for clients on-site during cargo operations.
  • Report on cargo operations (when attending) as defined in company procedures.
  • Update stowage plans according to actual stowage on board.
  • Maintain contact with vessels, agents, and clients, providing all required information for cargo operations according to company procedures.
  • Conduct surveys of ports, vessels, quays, and cargoes.

Requirements

  • Nautical and/or technical background at a senior vocational level.
  • Significant experience with marine operations in the heavy lift and heavy transport sector.
  • Proven ability to delegate and coordinate complex activities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Expertise in heavy transport with a strong safety attitude, willingness to think outside the box, and take responsibility for executing complex projects.
  • Understanding of environmental aspects relevant to marine operations.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
