Job Description

The Cargo Helicopter Military Analyst provides expertise in Army cargo aviation operations, capability development, requirements analysis, and aviation modernization efforts. This position supports studies, assessments, and operational analyses focused on Army cargo aircraft capabilities, tactical employment, emerging technologies, and future force requirements. The analyst leads working groups, develops operational and requirements documentation, supports Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) activities, and produces graduate-level written products, including white papers, concept papers, operational views, and capability requirements documents for Army and Joint stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Rated Army Aviator or Rated Aircrew member with a minimum of 12 years of Army aviation flight and/or combat cargo helicopter operations experience.
  • Experience as an Instructor Pilot (IP) or Flight Engineer in Army aviation cargo helicopter formations.
  • Experience operating current Army tactical cargo aircraft fielded to Army aviation units.
  • Completion of military or civilian equivalent professional development programs comparable to Senior Leaders Course (SLC), Master Leaders Course (MLC), CGSC/ILE, or Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course.
  • Senior or Master Army Aviator Badge or Senior or Master Aircrew Badge required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in combat and/or capability development activities.
  • Experience with flight standardization programs supporting Army cargo aviation organizations ranging from 35 to 600 personnel.
  • Experience planning, facilitating, and executing Joint Working Groups.
  • Experience leading aviation studies focused on capability development and technology evaluation.
  • Ability to provide detailed operational analysis on the tactical employment of Army utility and cargo aircraft.
  • Experience leading teams responsible for authoring a Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC)-approved JCIDS document.
  • Experience as a direct contributor to the Army Aviation Operations Capabilities-Based Assessment (CBA).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently under broad guidance and produce high-quality white papers, concept papers, requirements documents, operational views, and related products with minimal revisions.
  • Active SECRET security clearance required.
