Cargo Agent Lead
About the role
This role involves providing day-to-day work direction to Cargo Agents and serving as a backup to the Customer Service Supervisor. Key responsibilities include assigning employees to work specific jobs, performing new employee introductions, training employees on work area rules, ensuring employees are fully trained on company policies and procedures, interfacing with other departments to address service issues, adhering to Menzies uniform guidelines and code of conduct, inventorying freight to ensure proper accounting, and following all security procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assigns employees to work specific jobs at front counter or airline account.
- Performs new employee introduction to work area, explains work rules, uniform policy, time clock process, office-terminal procedures and provides overview of department operations.
- Trains employees on specifics or assigns employees to work with an experienced representative.
- Ensures that employees are fully trained on company policies and procedures including telephone procedures, cash handling, security procedures and systems.
- Interfaces with other departments to ensure that service issues are addressed and corrected to ensure quality of service.
- Adheres to Menzies uniform guidelines and code of conduct.
- Inventory of freight to insure proper accounting of cargo.
- Must follow all Security procedures as required.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Possess and maintain valid US driver's license.
- Able to pass all pre-employment testing to include drug testing and a physical.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Comfortable lifting 35lbs repetitively.
- Able to obtain and maintain all required airports and customs badges/seals.
- Available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
- One-year college certificate or technical school, six months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification in dangerous goods awareness/acceptance.
- Previous customer service experience in a lead role preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft products.
