Caregiver (Starting at $18/hr, $20/hr for CNA)

About the role

Marklund is a nonprofit organization providing residential, educational, and therapy services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. We operate from two centers - the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, housing nearly 178 residents. Our services also include the Marklund Day School and Community Day Services programs.

Responsibilities

• Aid in daily program activities to support residents' goal achievement
• Groom residents, including hair, teeth, and shaving
• Assist with bathing, incontinence care, and dressing
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment
• Support residents with mobility needs, assisting transfers between wheelchair and bed
• Communicate with the healthcare team

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Caregiver experience helpful but not required (paid on-site training provided)
• Ability to perform essential job functions and meet functional and environmental requirements
• Exceptional work ethic, positive attitude, and strong commitment to providing excellent care
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and contribute to a supportive team culture

Pay

$18/hr (plus additional differentials of $1 for night shift and $1 for weekends for AMs and PMs)
