Caregiver HHA/PCA

About the role

Senior Helpers of Northern Queens is seeking dedicated and compassionate Caregivers to provide support in clients' homes. Ideal candidates should be able to work independently and have a pleasant and friendly personality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care activities including baths, oral hygiene, basic skin care, grooming, toileting, catheter and ostomy care, transferring, dressing and undressing, changing diapers/briefs, ambulation, medication assistance/reminder, home exercise plan, household tasks, meal preparation, feeding, light housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and equipment/supply safety.
• Engage with clients in conversation, hobbies, activities, board games, and other types of proper activities for the client.
• Maintain a written log with receipts of all client money used to purchase goods or materials for the client’s care.
• Report any changes in client’s condition to the Supervisor.
• Document care provided consistent with agency requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience working in home health care.
• Active HHA License in NY state.
• Safe and reliable transportation to go to and from the client's location and/or facilities.
• Valid and current state driver's license and insurance.
• Available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

$20.00-$20.59/hour + $100.00 referral bonus for all HHAs/Caregivers who are hired/clients who are brought on.
