Caregiver (HCA / CNA) - Senior Living / Yakima, WA

About the role

PRN/On Call caregiver position at Avamere at Englewood Heights, 3710 Kern Road, Yakima, WA 98902.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): personal hygiene (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting); mobility assistance (walking, transferring, using mobility aids); meal preparation (setting up meals, cutting food, removing trays).
• Providing emotional support and companionship: offering empathy, listening, encouragement; engaging in conversations, activities, social interactions.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment: housekeeping, laundry, cleaning, tidying.
• Health monitoring and medical advocacy: observing residents for health changes, reporting concerns, monitoring vital signs.
• Answering resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintaining confidentiality of resident information.
• Reporting safety concerns in resident apartments to supervisor.
• Assisting with orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Performing other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.

Requirements

• Preference for experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and/or Assisted Living Facility.
• Ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
• Ability to create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.

Pay

Wage: $19‑$21 per hour (DOE).
