Caregiver for Behavioral Group Home

About the role

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in a group home setting with personal hygiene
• Support individuals who may have behavioral challenges and other complex needs
• Engage in activities that promote socialization and community integration
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Work collaboratively with other team members to develop and implement care plans
• Document daily activities and progress in participant records

Requirements

• At least 6 months-1 year experience in direct care of individuals with developmental disabilities
• Must have some experience working with severe behavioral challenges such as verbal and physical aggression, running away, etc.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• DSP Year 1 and DSP Year 2 certifications preferred

Qualifications

• Valid CA Driver's license with a driver history of at least one year as a licensed driver (in any US state)
• Pass applicable criminal and driver history background checks
• Pass a pre-employment physical and TB test

Skills

• Behavioral de-escalation techniques
• Knowledge of client rights and advocacy
• Strong communication skills

Pay

Starting range is currently at $18.10/hour up to $20/hour (pay rate determined by which group home location you work in), plus annual increases, Pay on Demand, Full benefits package for employees working 30+ hours/week, including health benefits and 401(k) with a 3% company match.

Schedule

All positions require working at least one weekend shift (some schedules include both weekend days) on a regular basis.
