Responsibilities

Caregivers at Charis Hearts provide non-medical in-home and/or community care based on the Client Service Plan. Responsibilities may include:

• Perform client wellness checks to ensure their well-being
• Assist clients with completing admission documents as needed
• Help train other caregivers on Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) in the client's home
• Provide non-medical support to agency service recipients
• Be familiar with and follow all rules, policies, and procedures related to service delivery
• Submit all required documentation accurately and on time
• Adhere to the individual service plan for each recipient
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all client records and information unless authorized by written consent
• Immediately report any incidents of injury involving the service recipient or yourself to your supervisor
• Report any suspected abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities and your supervisor

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have valid State ID/Driver's License
• Strong communication skills – both oral and written
• Reliable transportation to and from client locations
• Compassionate and caring nature with a genuine desire to help others
• Honesty and integrity in all interactions
• Willingness to attend training sessions provided by referring agencies and/or the Tennessee Department of Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities (MHDD)
